Vence is a very French town. Wander down the narrow lanes of the medieval old city, or laze away the afternoon on the big market square, shaded by the Provence plane trees and you are quickly aware that you couldn’t be in a more quintessentially French location. It drips French.

We were up at 5:30 am.  It wasn't planned that way.  The older we get, the earlier we get up in the morning.  There is no longer a need for an alarm clock.  The temperature was a cool 54 degrees F with a predicted high of 74 degrees F  and sunny skies.
