Ronda

Today we took off on a lengthy journey, but one we really wanted to do regardless of the weather.  We went to Ronda, Spain's home of bullfighting and the town which is split by lovely bridges over a steep gorge. Our Best Day in Paris

Today we tasted a Greek Gyro for the first time in our lives. We will never be the same. While Eleanor waited in the park behind Notre Dame, I went to rue St. Severin and purchased one gyro. Now my job was to bring this savory smelling concoction back to Eleanor without tasting it. On the way people commented on how good it smelled. Europe on $5 and $10 a day

We used Frommer's "Europe On 5 And 10 Dollars A Day" to prepare for our very first trip to Europe in 1973. We signed up for a 15 day "Freelance" Tour covering the cities of London, Vienna, Rome and Paris. The tour company arranged flights, hotel and offered optional bus tours. The last time we saw Paris...Revisited

Well after 35 years we were finally able to travel back in time and walk in the foorsteps of our youth. I had posted the 1973 photos prior to our Paris Untour. Today we took a walk down Avenue McMahon and found the Etoile Park Hotel still lives, along with the pedicure shop that was next door to it. The Heart of a Traveller

My childhood did not include traveling. Up until the age of 15, the only time I was out of the state of New Jersey was on a grade school trip to Washington's Crossing, Pennsylvania. When I had spoken to our Parisian contact, Larry, he had warned me about using my laptop with WiFi.

He said that I would be vulnerable to other computer users within 300-feet. They could easily capture, for

Traveling Alone

Like Nancy, whose blog I just read, I do some of my traveling alone because my husband hates to travel. Usually I've just signed on to a tour, but at 68, I'm now considering a more leisurely style. I've been wanting to see the Italian Alpes, but worry about just packing up & going it alone. Any Advice??
