May 31, 2014. Sachseln, Switzerland. A picnic at Seeweg on the shores of the Sarnersee included more than food and a view of the lake. A smart dog chooses Eleanor for continued entertainment.

There are no bugs in Switzerland.
When we first arrived in Sachseln, we couldn't get over how pristine the flowers are. The plants all seem to love it here. There are no signs of bug attacks or disease like we are accustomed to at home. Okay, I have to admit we did see some bugs eventually. But apparently they are not allowed to eat any flower or vegetable plants. Maybe it is the climate or maybe the Swiss are skilled gardeners of the…

Since the train trip is a long one (3 hours 48 minutes including 3 train changes), we caught the early 6:15am train and brought our breakfast with us. 3 Juni 2014. Today when Albert took us to Sarnen, we tried to find the shop window that had an edelweiss scarf. Eleanor had spotted it the day before when the store was closed. We finally found it.
