May 7, 2010. Cafe Hugo, Place des Vosges, Paris, France. After a full day at the Louvre, we headed home, refreshed ourselves and headed for Cafe Hugo for a late lunch/early dinner. We started off with Soupe a l'oignon "maison." Eleanor asked the waiter what kind of steak is "Entrecote." He pointed to his ribs, but couldn't think of the English word. He pointed to the next table of young ladies, and said "Ask them. They speak English." They called it a rump steak, and said it is very good. The…

April 25, 2010. A memorable lunch at Au Bistrot de la Place, place du Marche Ste-Catherine, the Marais, Paris, France. Our new friend, Lori, tells us about Bonchurch, Isle of Wight, England, a place that Charles Dickens described as "The prettiest place on…

I am traveling to Germany this summer and was wondering if any of you can recommend a place to stay in Koln? Also, have any of you traveled via train from Basel, Switzerland to Koln. If so, any advice? Happy Travels!

Isn't it wonderful to be able to travel through Bill's eyes! His enthusiasm for travel makes me so happy. I am able to "see" France vicariously, and since I will not be traveling there, this really is nice. Thanks Bill. Happy Travels!
