What would be a suggestion as to the best location for two weeks in Umbria?

two questions---May travel to Nafplio, Greece

top of the morning!

We are headed to Nafplio for two weeks, beginning May 26, 2010. Wondering if:

--GPS systems are readily available for rent in Greece?

--any advise for quick learn of basic Greek language?

Paris bus protocol

The last time we were in Paris, Eleanor and I used the Metro because it was so convenient. However, it is not handicapped friendly. There are many stairs, and sometimes long distances to walk when connecting to another line can be a problem. I know that almost all the buses in Paris are now handicapped accessible. Yes, we want to get away from it all, have a change of scene, break up the old routine...

So, we're leaving our rural village (pop. 500), largely un-served by public transportation, where the main livelihoods are farming, artisan foods and tourism.

Happy Birthday, Dear Cyrano...

I just happened to notice that today is the birthday of Rostand's character, apparently based on an historical person, who came from Bergerac. As Bergerac in the Dordogne...where we're going...soon. Coincidence?-- or --cue theme from the X-files!
