Untours Cafe

Before we leave on a trip we usually read mystery books about our destination. I would like to suggest the detective stories by Cara Black. "Aimee Leduc" is a free lance detective who solves crimes in the various districts of Paris. She evokes the Parisian atmosphere so realistically you feel like you are there.

I don't know the book but there was written on Marcel Petroit who was a doctor in Paris. He murdered many people in Paris and most were refugees during the Second World War when Paris was occupied. Later he masqueraded as a resistance fighter and bought some more time. Here is one such book https://www.amazon.com/Death-City-Light-Serial-Nazi-Occupied/dp/030... Also you might go on the internet and look into the plaques in Paris. Some are simple enamel, and some are much more elaborate.  My favorite was the one on the one legged policeman who went from one barricade to another sometimes shooting his rifle.
