Hi Steve, I am new to the cafe so i may have sent messages to all sort of people. However, Rome in June is going to be crowded & Hot!! I have been twice (May and Sept.) Of course you probably know to carry your own water bottle and hat. Most of those Rome fountains have wonderful cool water that is safe to drink and refill your bottle. Where ever you eat, use the rest room there. Take a siesta every day if possible and wander out at dusk when it may be cooler but still crowded. Must sees in Rome, The Vatican and its Museum. The Borghese Museum in a lovely green and tree shaded park (tickets required and suggest you order before you go and pick up at museum) The Paletine Hill at dusk. Long dinners on Piazza Narvonna or Campo dei Fiori. The fresh market every day in the Campo dei Fiori has wonderful cheeses, meats, veggies. Oh, how I miss that already. Enjoy. We were amazed how many places offered outdoor dining....it is everywhere so enjoy the cool evening. I am 62 and travel with a Canadian friend who is 58. We will be back to Italy this Sept. but up in Florence. Ciao. Sharlene, Tampa,FL

Hi Steve...first of all we are from Cincy...grew up there..went to Walnut Hills HS and UC....have been in the DC area ever since. My inlaws lived at Maple Knoll near you so we were out there alot. How long have you been there?

We loved our week in Rome....felt that we saw alot but would like to do it again....Ostia was a great place to go...no crowds and such an interesting place. Just go to places early...we hit the Forum at 8:30 AM and it was empty...by noon but it was packed. We didn't get to explore the area you are staying in, maybe next time.

We stayed very near the Campo dei Fiori....our son and daughter-in-law went a year ago to Rome for a last fling before the first baby and stayed in the same area....they climbed up to the top of St. Peter's and have wonderful photos from the top.

We are going to Ticino and The Swiss Heartland this May for 2 weeks and 3 days in Zurich to start the trip. Any suggestions for Ticino???

Thanks for writing, Ellie

Hi Steve,
Love your picture! Actually it was my wallpaper for the whole month of January when it rained all month here in CA.
Going to Rome? You will love it. Where are you staying. We stayed in the "Guilia" apt, very close to Vatican City. Loved it.
If you are interested, check out my album page and see the photos I posted of Rome and of Tuscany.
Have a great trip! Questions?? Feel free to ask.
Marlene

Hi Marlene....glad you enjoyed my portrait! Our apartment in Rome is the Babuino location close to the Spanish steps. Its the one advertised with the 68 steps! Whew! Appreciate your offer to answer questions. Am sure we will take advantage of your kind offer. Steve
