Hi Julia,
Have you tried an Untour yet? It's a great way to travel as you can tell by so many happy Untourists on the Cafe. Have any questions about traveling with them, feel free to ask me. My husband and I have been on 5 Untours so far and looking forward to doing more.
I highly recommend Swiss Oberland Untour. We stayed in the Bartlome apartment in a little town of Gwatt near the bigger town of Thun right on the Thunersee (Lake Thun). It was a great location in a valley with beautiful views of the mountains all around. Check out some of my photos on my page.
I liked staying there because it was so easy to get to anywhere we wanted to go any time of the day. The transportation system is awesome. From here we took many day trips including Lake Luzern, Lake Geneva, Matterhorn, Jungfrau, and even into Italy.
I also recommend Untours trips to Paris, Rome, Tuscany South, and one of my favorites Bavarian Castle Germany.
