Untours Cafe

A GPS is provided by Untours with rental car in Provence. However, it is not distributed until you reach your apartment destination and must be left when leaving the apartment upon departure.  My concern is finding my way to and from  the apartment from the Marseille Airport  as I am a single traveler and would find it very difficult to read a map while  driving on  unfamiliar roads.  Has anyone experienced this or would offer any advise?

Last year in Spain we contacted our phone carrier, Verizon, and paid $10 per day for service.  It only costs you when you turn on your phone, after which my iPhone worked just like it does at home, maps included. So, if you have an iPhone consider that option.  If you only use it for getting to and from the airport that's $20.

The Waze app is great when traveling in Europe.  I recently drove 1,600 miles in Ireland and with the Waze app it was easy.

If you're considering using your phone's GPS for your arrival and departure, you should consider Google Maps as well. With it you can actually download the areas you need before you leave so that you don't have to pay for "data." Look for the "Offline Maps" option.
