It has been 25 years since we went up to the jungfraujoch so any comments about breathing difficulty would not be relevant. I do recall that we received, and followed, the same advice Bill Kover gave about checking the weather the day before and going early. I think we were on the first train up.
We have done the grandmother's and grandfather's walks several times more recently when we were in our late 70's. Assuming you don't have some pre-existing breathing difficulty, both are a piece of cake. They are relatively flat and you can take your time. Our favorite between the two is the grandfather's walk and stop for lunch at the restaurant at Winteregg half way. The grandfather's walk has a parallel train line with a stop at Winteregg so if you have a breathing problem, the walk can be shortened.
Lots of construction (temporarily halted, I assume) . . .in the Grindelwald/Jungfrau area: https://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/opinion_v-cableway--grindelwald-s-cons...
Thank you Claudia, Russell and Bill
