Untours Cafe

We visited Musee du Louvre on a very warm Friday, May 2, 2008, during our Paris Untour (April 22 to May 21, 2008). Lunch on the balcony at Cafe Mollien, overlooking the Pyramid, was a refreshing relief from the lack of air conditioning inside the museum.

It was unusually warm for that time of year. It was mid to upper 70's for several days straight. With sunny to partly sunny skies, it felt much warmer. Inside the museum, it was VERY warm due to lack of air conditioning and hordes of people. We made the mistake of not bringing any water with us. So the balcony lunch was very welcome. It was in shadow and the air was cool. We spent about 1 1/2 hours out there. When our waiter, Alain, was free we showed him the 1973 photo of us on the Bateux Mouches. Back then I had hair. Alain pointed to my bald head, and we all had a big laugh.

My what a crowd! The day looks great however. I must admit April and May are my favorite months to have visited Paris and yes it can get quite warm. Nice video!

It took us a about 45 minutes to find our way OUT of the Louvre. I thought we would never get out. We tried an elevator along with a family from Brazil. At every floor they got out only to jump back in because they didn't know where to go.
